Once again we did it! Muchas Gracias to every team and everyone who made Stargaze XIV possible. It was a truly wondrous time, and it exceeded expectations all around. Some say the best overheard quote was "If 'Friends and Family' is the Marines of throwing Parties, then Stargaze is the Navy Seals!"

We really had NO idea it would snow on us! We all knew via the forecasts that it could be cold that weekend and might rain, but who imagined 3"-5" of snow?!

We're so thankful to everyone who showed up Thursday and Friday to enjoy the sun and clear skies and awesome weather! For those of you who woke up Saturday morning to grey skies, we weren't lying that Friday was a sunny day... Friday night was crazy and psycho in the bestest of ways in our own Chill and Massage Tent areas. Saturday the hike to the Twin Lakes was awesome with our own crew claiming the local island for Stargaze, and our successful fire ala magnesium keeping us (somewhat) warm. The missing hiker episode shook us a bit, but we all made it back OK and celebrated a grand evening afterwards.

Opening Ceremonies really took it home, touching especially on the connection between us as voters and partakers in this upcoming 'once in a lifetime' election, and us as representatives from across the nation and globe, and most of all us as sojourners along our own paths....

Of all the Stargazes we've been involved with, this was the hardest and bestest of em all. Memories of heavy snowfall during DJ Lancota, Day and DJ Konkers sets... Stargazers lying flat down on the meadow staring up into the sky as the snow fell heavily at 3am! The snow stopping during the Sunrise Set, and by 1pm, we were scrambling to try to react to the snow covering and collapsing some of our shade structures! By 5pm, when we got out of there, we had 5" in some places... nothing escaped the snow -- our amps, speakers, tents, port-a-potties, kitchen, cars.... You name it, it was covered in a winter wonderland's blanket!

None of us got stuck. A TON of us had to really kick ass and work hard to make it happen. Yeah we had a massage tent at 80F when it was 40F out... Yeah we had kick ass food, drinks, breakfasts and memories despite it all. But hell yeah it's something that I'm sure will stand in all our memories for years to come...

And since then we've been lucky enough to enjoy and experience some of us celebrating successfully standing atop peaks such as Mount Whitney and Shasta, debuts at local Norcal and Socal monthlys as DJ/VJ/artists. We've celebrated engagements, a wedding, a 21st birthday, rock climbs and much much more.

And in the days ahead we have art gallery openings, the election, Above & Beyond (SF), Halloween, Orphan (and with our family) Thanksgiving, and more!

Be sure to check the Calendar section of my.stargaze.org for stuff like weeklies where Stargazers are playing... both Norcal and Socal events like Syncopated (LA), Lava (LA), Melodica (SF) and others!

And yes, we're already planning Stargaze XV -- stay tuned for info!

Peace!
